Guide to Dried Flower Powder

What is flower powder?

Flower powder is whole dried flowers ground into a fine powder. It keeps the flower's natural colour and aroma, and mixes easily into drinks, batters, face packs and soaps. All our powders are food-grade and handled under our FSSAI licence.

Which powder for which colour?

For blue: butterfly pea or blue cornflower. For pink and red: rose or hibiscus. For yellow and orange: safflower, marigold or calendula. For a floral aroma: lavender, jasmine or chamomile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can flower powder be eaten?

Yes, our powders are food-grade and FSSAI-licensed. Check each product page for its recommended uses. If you are pregnant, nursing or on medication, speak to your doctor before using herbal powders regularly.

Can I use flower powder in tea?

Yes. Stir ½ teaspoon into hot water, milk or lemonade, and strain if you prefer a clear drink.

How do I use dried flower powders as a natural food colour?

Start with a small pinch mixed into milk, batter, icing or drinks, and add more until you reach the shade you like. Butterfly pea gives a blue colour, rose and hibiscus give pink to red tones, and safflower gives yellow to orange.

Can I use flower powders in skincare?

Yes. Rose, calendula, chamomile, lavender and hibiscus powders are popular in face packs, masks and soaps. Mix with water, rose water, curd or clay. Always do a small patch test first.

What is the difference between flower powder and whole dried flowers?

Powders blend easily and give even colour, which makes them ideal for baking, drinks and skincare. Whole flowers are better for brewing tea and for decoration.

How should I store flower powders?

Keep them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Use a dry spoon every time, as moisture can make powders clump.

Do you supply flower powders in bulk?
